Zeeland Board of Public Works is honored to share that our Water Department has been named 2025 Water Utility of the Year by the Michigan Rural Water Association (MRWA). This award is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and professionalism our team brings to the Zeeland community every single day.
The Water Utility of the Year award recognizes excellence in water utility management, operations, and service to the community. It highlights the behind-the-scenes efforts that go into ensuring that safe, high-quality water flows through our homes, schools, and businesses.
“We’re incredibly proud of our team and the work they do to maintain such a vital resource for our community,” said Andrew Boatright, General Manager of Zeeland BPW. “This recognition from MRWA means a lot because it celebrates not just what we do, but how we do it—with care, expertise, and a focus on the future.”
Zeeland BPW’s Water Department serves nearly 3,000 customers, overseeing the complex system that keeps clean water flowing. From regular maintenance and testing to planning for future growth, the team works hard to ensure water quality and reliability.
We’re grateful to our customers for trusting us with this essential service. This award is truly a reflection of our commitment to making sure Zeeland continues to thrive—for today and generations to come.
