We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Zeeland Board of Public Works (BPW) and the ODC Network to bring the innovative practice of Rainscaping to our residential water customers. This pilot program aims to help Zeeland residents manage stormwater more effectively while enhancing the beauty of their properties.
What is Rainscaping?
Rainscaping involves landscaping techniques designed to manage stormwater runoff at the source, reducing the risk of flooding, erosion, and water pollution. By incorporating features like rain gardens, permeable pavements, and native plantings, homeowners can not only protect local water quality but also create stunning outdoor spaces that benefit both people and wildlife while reducing outdoor water usage.
Join Us for a Free Rainscaping Workshop!
We invite you to learn more about Rainscaping and how you can apply it to your own property at a free workshop hosted by ODC. The workshop will take place on October 12 at the Howard Miller Public Library. You’ll have the opportunity to understand more about rainscaping, explore practical solutions, ask questions, and be the first to know when home assessments are available in our area.

This program is made possible in part by the Zeeland BPW Community Grant awarded earlier this summer. We’re proud to support initiatives that contribute to the health and sustainability of our community, and we look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
