Like more than 2,000 utilities across the country, we are powered by a community-owned, not-for-profit public power utility. During Public Power Week, we celebrate the benefits of living in a public power community.
Bring out the whole family to celebrate Public Power Week on Thursday, October 10 from 4-7pm. We’ll have activities, treats (and other light snacks), swag, photo ops, and a chance to learn more about what it means to be a public power utility.
We will have limited parking at the BPW but by utilizing the walking path between Main St. and Washington you can take advantage of parking on Main, across from the Rec Center, or for those who need less of a stroll our Water Warehouse parking lot will be available.
Through the annual Public Power Coloring Contest, we wish to engage students 1st-4th grade and the community in a way that will enhance interest and understanding of the role that efficient, safe, reliable, and affordable electricity plays in powering our community.
